Woodland Creation Grant

The woodland creation grant is now open for applications all year round. The grant pays up to £6,800 per hectare, and you can then apply for extra support to maintain it for a further period of 10 years after the woodland is planted, currently £200/ha per year.

Why should you apply to the Countryside Stewardship Woodland Creation Grant?

Trees are one of the most effective ways to:

• Capture carbon, • Prevent flooding, • Improve water quality, • Boost soil conservation, and • Provide habitats for birds and insects.

If you sign up for the Woodland Creation Grant now, you have 2 years to plant your new woodland and then you can apply for extra support to help maintain it for a further 10 years after the woodland is planted.
